About counselling

Space to explore what matters to you.

Counselling offers a private setting to talk about what is happening for you, make sense of difficult feelings and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Confidentiality and its limits will be explained before you begin.

What counselling can offer

A place to slow down and understand.

As your counsellor, Jen can help you explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships and patterns of behaviour. The focus comes from what you would like help with rather than from a fixed programme or checklist.

Counselling is collaborative. Jen will not give you instructions or decide what your answer should be. She can help you look at possibilities, notice what is getting in the way and find an approach that feels more your own.

There is no expectation that you explain everything at once.

What happens in sessions?

The conversation begins with what you need.

If you decide to continue after the introductory call, counselling takes place in planned sessions lasting 50 minutes. What you talk about will depend on what feels important to you.

  • 01

Relationships and how you connect with others

  • 02

    Childhood and earlier experiences

  • 03

Feelings, thoughts or patterns of behaviour

  • 04

    Past and present life events

  • 05

Situations that feel difficult or overwhelming

How to begin

A simple, unhurried beginning.

  1. 01

    Start with a conversation

A free introductory call of up to 30 minutes gives you space to ask questions and get a sense of Jen and how she works.

  2. 02

    Agree the practical details

If you decide to continue, you can discuss a regular session time, confidentiality, what has brought you to counselling and what you hope may feel different.

  3. 03

    Work at your pace

Sessions can be short- or longer-term. You do not have to tell your whole story at once, and the work can develop gradually around what feels most important.

Fees & first conversation

£60 for a 50 minutes session. The introductory call is free.

The free call can last up to up to 30 minutes and gives you a chance to see whether working together feels right. There is no obligation to book afterwards.
